My Approach
Our First Meeting and Beyond
Listening and confirming
Our first meeting is for us to get to know each other, and not just about investments. I understand meeting with a financial advisor and discussing something as intimate as your finances can be stressful. My desire is to get to know you and learn about your financial needs and the type of guidance you prefer. I will listen to gain this understanding and convey back to you what I believe you need. It is through these conversations and processes that we can start to build trust and confidence in working with each other. Then, you will decide if you are confident in our approach. If you don’t feel comfortable and secure in any aspect of our meeting, we will continue to have conversations to ensure that you are ready before we move forward.
Building trust
Many financial advisors may work with any investor who walks in their door – especially if they have a large sum of assets. However, I will take the time to have an honest discussion about you, your goals, and your passions, outside of just your financial statements and holdings. Helping clients pursue their financial goals is an ongoing and ever-evolving process. My goal is to form a relationship with you based on mutual trust and through in-depth investment analysis. Honesty goes a long way in building a long-term relationship, and I am here to treat you fairly and with respect.
Periodic reviews with you
Once your strategies are in place, maintaining communication is a vital component to our long-term relationship. If I miss your call, whether it’s first thing in the morning or late in the afternoon, my goal is to call you back that same day. This shouldn’t be unique to me, but I have learned through the years that not every financial advisor does this. The last thing I want is to leave you wondering overnight about a question you have regarding your money.
I conduct frequent client events so that we can get to know each other on a personal level and I make them both educational and intentionally casual to encourage comfortable, open conversations.
